罐空間 CANS SPACE
No.9, Li Shui St, Da' an Dist, Taipei, Taiwan 106
Between Spaces presents a triumvirate of post-war modern artists — modern maestro Chen Ting-Shih and Indonesian artists Ahmad Osni Peii and Fadjar Sidik
— who have each forged inventive approaches to the element of space in their works.
In sculptor Ahmad Osni Peii’s gracefully flowing, curvilinear bronze creations, void is rendered visible and the illusion of space masterfully conceived. Cosmic forms and amorphously-shaped blocks delineate positive and negative spaces in modern maestro Chen Ting-Shih's bagasse board prints, creating an alternate macrocosm. With distinct forms that morph in pictorial space, the trailblazing canvas works of the painter Fadjar Sidik apprehend the world through the formalist possibilities of abstraction.
