Art Agenda, S.E.A. is an art agency in Singapore comprising of an art advisory and a curatorial unit founded by Wang Zineng. With an original and innovative set of exhibition and curatorial projects, Art Agenda, S.E.A. is a significant dealer in the secondary market for modern Asian art, particularly from the Southeast Asian region.

WANG Zineng
Founder

One of the key market makers for Southeast Asian art, Wang Zineng led the curation and sale of Southeast Asian art at Christie’s from 2011 to 2016 before founding Art Agenda, S.E.A.. During his time at Christie's, Zineng established numerous record prices for Southeast Asian artists and the largest ever auction sale total for Southeast Asian art in 2015. He also expanded the geographical footprint of modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art at auction beyond Singapore and Hong Kong to salerooms in New York and Shanghai, and was the principal driver behind private sales of Southeast Asian art at Christie’s. Zineng previously worked as an independent curator and managed collections acquisition at the National Gallery, Singapore. He has also curated exhibitions of modern and contemporary Southeast Asian artists at the Singapore Art Museum and the National University of Singapore (NUS) Museum.

Léonore BECKER
Art Advisor

Graduating with a M.A. in History and Business of Art, Léonore started her career with Christie’s in London, then in New York and in Paris, from 2007 to 2013. Working in various departments, she developed an expertise in a wide range of subjects and gained experience in valuation, advisory and art exhibitions. She coordinated the Yves Saint Laurent part II sale in 2010 in Paris; thereafter she worked in the Impressionist and Modern department, where she participated in the sale including the highest-price work sold at an auction in France at that time. She subsequently worked with a Parisian expert and restorer specialising in European works of art, and for Chanel in the Fashion division.

Léonore believes that working in the art world is not only sharing aesthetics values, it is also promoting artists, culture and local history. Working with Art Agenda S.E.A., she is marketing Southeast Asian art, through comprehensive research and documentation, following market trends and supporting lesser-known artists. 

Eva SHIU
Art Advisor

Born in Taiwan, Eva Shiu joined Art Agenda, S.E.A. as Art Advisor in May 2017. Previously, Eva worked as Client Relationship Manager at Christie’s Singapore and assisted numerous Asian collectors in building up their art collections. In addition, Eva helped to put together and promote Convergences: A Special Sale of Singapore Art in Christie’s Hong Kong in 2015. It was the inaugural sale focused solely on Singaporean artists at an international auction, and increased the exposure of Singaporean art to international audiences. Before Christie’s, she worked as the Taiwan representative and art specialist for 33 Auction. 

At Art Agenda, S.E.A., Eva is sharing with new audiences, particularly Chinese-speaking clients in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, her passion and increasing expertise of Asian 20th century and contemporary art, particularly from the Southeast Asian region.

Jefferson JONG
Designer

Born in Indonesia and educated in Singapore, Jefferson is in a strategic position of being able to navigate these two significant art hubs in Southeast Asia. Soon to graduate with a masters degree in architecture, his interests are however not limited to just the built environment. Jefferson previously interned at Christie's Singapore, Sundaram Tagore Gallery, FARM Architects and Ong&Ong. He also independently manages projects in curation, interior design and graphic design with clients based in Europe and Asia. Jefferson aspires to utilise his multi-disciplinary background to promote the appreciation of Southeast Asian art within the region and beyond. 

 

Well informed in the practical and theoretical concerns of design and architecture, Jefferson creates and manages all aspects of visual, communication, spatial design for Art Agenda, S.E.A., ranging from exhibition layout and aesthetics to catalogues and other visual aids.
